Scholarship Description

Kristian J. Rose, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Kristian Rose, a native of New Bedford, MA, was a UMass Sport Management major, class of 2012. The summer before entering his senior year, he died in an auto accident. This scholarship was established jointly by Bay State Games, where he interned that summer, and the Association of Diversity in Sport, of which he was a member, in 2011, to honor Kristian and his passion for sports, volunteering, and his community. Applicants must demonstrate significant community service and financial need. First preference is given to students who have been selected as interns at Bay State Games or have interned there in the past. Eligibility: Sport Management.

This will be an official University of Massachusetts sanctioned scholarship for many years to come. Rest in Peace Kristian.
