This year’s annual Sport Talk Series will host a diverse panel of collegiate head coaches and UMass starting quarterback- Blake Frohnapfel to discuss a multitude of topics related to recruitment. It seems that we regularly read stories about Athletic Departments dealing with recruiting violations and scandals. On the heels of the Louisville
Men’s Basketball Program recruitment scandal, we look to talk with Blake and our elite group of coaches about the intricacies of modern college recruitment. Potential topics to discuss include:

- The role NCAA rules and regulations play in the recruitment process.
- Allocating scholarships, who gets the full ride?
- International recruits.
- Signing Day, should the contract be binding? What should it include that it currently does not?
- Role of social media when recruiting an athlete.
- Psyche of college athletes in the recruitment process.
- Parting thoughts: Should college athletes receive monetary compensation?
Panelists:
- Blake Frohnapfel: Starting quarterback for the UMass Minutemen during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Won the Bulger Lowe Award given to the best Division I player in New England.
- Becky Burleigh: Head Women's Soccer Coach at the University of Florida. Five-time SEC Coach of the Year. Second fastest Division I coach to reach 200 wins. Number three on the Division I Active Coaches Chart for winning percentage and number of wins.
- Craig Esherick: Former Head Men's Basketball Coach at Georgetown University, was a part of the coaching staff for 30 years. Current Sport Management Professor at George Mason University, and NCAA Basketball Color commentator for MASN.
- Joseph Pereira: 30 year coaching veteran, coached pre and post Title IX implementation. Former Head Women's Soccer Coach at Old Dominion University and Methodist College. Former U20 United States Women's National Team Olympic Developmental Coach.
